Top Walking Day

The day began. Suzie and I drove to the meeting place where Darrell, Günter, and Dan were waiting. This was a good start I thought. Five walkers great we would be able to knock on five or six hundred doors. By the time we set out on our way, we had eight volunteers ready to spread message, and spread the message out we did. Right off the bat, Suzie and I ran into two teachers. They were a married couple, one worked in Gilpin County, the other at Horizon Ridge High school. They had very specific questions, obviously relating to education. While the husband and son worked on getting their beautiful Camaro ready for a car show, Suzie and I talked to Denise. We had a great conversation and I believe that I was able to answer their questions to their comfort level. Meanwhile the rest of the team was walking, knocking and talking. We had a very good response throughout the neighborhood. Suzie and I got to the third home and once again found ourselves in a conversation with another couple who was more concerned with the extra fees and taxes being levied on the public and small businesses. We talked with everyone who would have a conversation. We met many people who all had specific concerns ranging from: Taxes, fees, education, teachers, gay rights, gun control, and Energy. It seems that people are taking an active interest in the people that are running for office. This was a great day, and we got to meet many great people from several different walks of life. I appreciated every person’s contribution to the day’s events. Oh yea, we ended up knocking on 1007 doors today bringing the total to 5704 homes that we have contacted. I personally feel that talking to the people that I may just be representing is vital to the success of the campaign and the future position. It will also be very necessary to keep in touch with all the volunteers, pcp's, District captains, and the people I have had the opportunity to meet. Every person has a different perspective, and those perspectives are vital to the success of any Representative.
