Precinct Walking
The walking campaign is officially underway. We began on Saturday with no expectations of what was to come. There were ten of us that day. I was there along with nine volunteers including my wife and daughter. We set out with the nerves of first time knockers. Those nerves quickly disipated, and we were off. It was a beautiful day, and many were not home. We ran into about four people who were very nice and asked that we keep our literature. Where the true shock came into play was at the homes of many who had supported Obama and the democrats in 2008. There were several who were interested in the literature, and nothing else. Then there were those who said they had voted for those who were now in power, and they realized what a mistake it was. They were willing to put yard signs out. I had union workers who were fed up with the unions not representing them. Democrat business owners who are going to lose their businesses because of the healtcare bill and the dirty dozen. There were many Republicans and unaffiliated voters who were very exicted to meet me and or my volunteers. They are excited that we have a candidate that is active. The main point is that we all have a common interest and that is to strengthen the economy of our state, and to do it with true representation.
Overall we estimate about 1580 residences were hit this weekend. I originally thought we were at 2000, but I was mistaken. Still that is a great accomplishment for our first weekend out. I owe it all to my volunteers. Thank you for all your work. I know we were tired, but, what a great couple of days.
Two down only 35 to go. Oh, then we start over. I am looking forward to the next several months with all of you.
