Jefferson County Republican Assembly
Today was the Jefferson County Assembly. The nerves were abundant this morning as we arrive just after six am. There were people stirring and working on putting signs everywhere. The Shrine building had become Republican Central. We unloaded the car and brought the campaign information, T-shirts, and Banner inside. Suzie set up the table and we were off. The good friend of a volunteer offered his 1958 Chevrolet to put signs on. It was the hit of the show. See the picture gallery.
We were all credentialed and the Assembly began precisely at 8:15ish. The nerves began to get strong. We have all heard of Butterflies in the Stomach, but, I had Pterodactyl fighting in mine. I spent the first hour and a half talking to people from the house district. There were many I had never had the opportunity to meet. The nerves calmed as I was able to meet so many people who were involved in their government.
The House District Chairman filled the seats of Delegates who were not able to attend. We had very few who didn't make it. We were then broken up into our various House Districts. "It was time to face the Delegates. I spoke for a few minutes. Sometimes it is hard to say what needs to be said in two minutes. The floor was opened to more nominations. None were made. I was voted in by acclamation. Robert Ramirez is the Republican Candidate for House District 29. There was a lot of work that went into preparing for Caucus and Assembly. It has paid off. Now the Ground Campaign begins. I would like to thank all who have been a part of the Campaign thus far. The support of my Wife and Family has been paramount. The many Volunteers and Contributors have been the backbone of our foundation. Thanks to all and I am looking forward to the hard work ahead. UNITED WE WIN.
