ELEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY TWO HOMES, 11,872
7/12/10
A very good Friday, and a good Saturday turned into quite the week. We are now at 11,872 homes. The positives are still on the increase. We have hit some negatives, but, in comparison to the whole, they are not even a percentage. As always, we could not have done this without the help of our volunteers. Thank you again.
I had some new experiences this week. I actually had many independents that stopped and asked me questions. They were well informed and knew what they were looking for in answers. I am very fortunate to have run into these people. They were great. One very nice woman, after asking many questions, stated that she would remember me and my name because I knocked on her door. She said that in thirty years, no candidate or incumbent had ever knocked on her door. A gentleman was working in his garage, and took the time to ask a couple questions about our economy and the obscene manner in which our government was spending money. He wanted not government healthcare, help, or bailouts. He simply wanted to work for his family and be left alone. Both were Independent voters. I heard his questions many times over the weekend, and some of the ones that she had asked as well. What I am finding out is, people want legislators that will not only listen, but, act when action is needed.
It gets more and more exciting every day. We have a heavy weekend this week and will need all the volunteers out. IF you are unable to walk I understand it is not for everyone. We also have a phone bank for next Wednesday. If neither of these options are your favorite, help out the campaign by donating. We are about to purchase yard signs and larger signs. The estimated cost will be about $3500 if every republican in the house district donated $20 we would be in great shape for the campaign season ahead. Thank you for your support.

With the holiday weekend at hand, it was necessary that we get quite a bit done on Saturday. Sunday, Independence Day, was one that was full of parties, and BBQ's. We started at ten fifteen on Saturday morning. We started the day with nine volunteers two of which were new to walking. By the end of the day, we had knocked on 1260 doors, and a total of 15 volunteers came out, six of which had never been involved in a walking campaign. It was a great day with great response. We keep moving forward, and we are making great strides among the voters, and volunteers. I am very excited about the interest in the campaign. It is as if the House District has come out to help us. This outpouring of support along with the financial support from so many, has given our campaign wings to not just keep the momentum but bolster it. Thank you to all who have been such a valuable asset to this our venture.

Each day we are able to contact more voters. We have knocked on 9170 doors, and we have had a great response. Wednesday and Thursday we knocked on roughly 150 doors each day. Saturday we were able to hit about 680 homes and last on Sunday we finished the last 250 or so to make up the final number of 9170. The volunteers were out with us working hard in the heat. Thank you to Dana and her family, Walt, David, Rich, Larry, and Mary. your efforts are helping us move towards success. Great work everyone.
We have many stories each day, and I will write further about them as we go.

We have officially knocked on 8020 homes. This is quite an accomplishment. Between the volunteers, my family, Walt, and me, we have done this right on schedule. I am happy to say that we have worked very hard to get to this point. Thank you to all who have helped. We are marching towards November with a great force of excitement.
I am noticing more and more anti incumbent sentiment. This is good for me, but, not necessarily for everyone. People are fed up with the lack of responsibility of our Legislators. They are tired of the government not listening to what they are saying, and what they are saying to me is, we need less Government in our lives, fewer restrictions on our liberty, and more fiscally sound actions. I could not agree more. The funny thing is that it is the same basic message across party lines. It seems that while in political arenas we are becoming a more separatist people, but, among those who are not in these circles, we are growing together.
We will keep moving forward and listening to people have to say.
