Robert Ramirez Announces Candidacy for Colorado House District 29

Robert RamirezRobert Ramirez (R-Westminster) announced that he will be a candidate for Colorado State House District 29 for the 2010 election.

“I am running for the State House of Representatives because I want to bring the same common sense values that I live by to the state capitol,” Ramirez said. “I know what it is like to raise a family, make ends meet, and still find the time to give back to the community. That is what I plan to bring to the State House of Representatives.”

Ramirez, along with his wife, Suzanne Stone Ramirez, and daughter, Lauren Sides, have lived in House District 29 since 2002. Ramirez says he is motivated by his deep commitment to his local community and hopes to continue that commitment by serving as the state Representative for House District 29.

“I know the challenges that Colorado families are currently facing,” Ramirez said. “I believe that we need decision makers at the state capitol who know and understand these challenges at a local and personal level.”

Ramirez has served on numerous charities in Westminster and throughout House District 29. Some highlights include serving as a delegate to the board of directors for a local retirement community, as a member of Mandalay Middle School PTA, and other charitable positions raising money and assisting in community improvement efforts.

“As a State Representative, I will pursue policies that unlock the potential of our small businesses and scale back excessive government spending,” Ramirez said. “I now feel that it is time to do more for my community and that is why I am running for office, so that the community truly has a voice in the state legislature.”

Ramirez is in management with a locally family owned and operated uniform rental service, and has an Associate’s Degree in business and is currently working on a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration Management. His wife, Suzanne, is an elementary school teacher and has worked in Jefferson County schools since 2001.
